I Just Want to Be Okay!


 We all want to be okay. No one wants to be the person with a serious problem. Yet everyone has something!

 Think about it: A great business isn’t one that never has any problems - there is no such thing. Great companies get rid of their problems so they can focus on the positive.


I Just Need to Be More Positive!


   We tend to think practicing more positive thoughts and behavior will get rid of the bad. Positive is good, but does it pass the real life test?

Think about it: Installing more productive programs on your computer won’t get rid of a virus. Your car will look better if you wash and wax it. But you’re still going nowhere with a bad transmission.


Why Can’t I Solve the Problem?


The standard approach is to study a problem, learn the solution and put it into practice.

That doesn’t work so well with humans, and here’s why: Emotions are able to override logic. Past experiences drive our emotions, which in turn cloud our thoughts and drive our behavior, even when we know better. The answer is in addressing destructive emotions and where they come from.


How It Begins


  We all received some bumps, scrapes and emotional wounds growing up.

Whenever a strongly emotional event occurs, the human brain is programmed to register a “truth.” If you burn your fingers for example, your brain records a lesson:“Don’t touch!”

This instinct level programming is designed to keep us from damage. But traumatic experiences can overload the ability of the brain’s autonomic system to process truth. When that happens, your brain records a “lesson” that is not true.

Many people temporarily escape the painful emotions plaguing them through alcohol, drugs (prescription or otherwise) sex, eating or money. We also develop disease from chronic stress. We try to control. Eventually we lose hope.


Healing


1.  We discuss the problem and ask where to begin.


2.  Something will come to mind that you need to work on. You will need to forgive, repent or renounce something.


3.  We will check your level of comfort with the issue, person or memory as you work through it until you have complete peace.


4.  Ministry continues in one or more sessions until the destructive emotions are gone.


5.  Soon you will be able to do this on your own. Instead of working to fix yourself, you will begin to live in freedom.



Details


 The most destructive emotional programming must be removed for dramatic improvement. If you have been deeply hurt, it can be very difficult to forgive. The more God sets you free from emotional pain, the easier it is to forgive.
